 Commander (2018 – Present)

Readiness Director, Seventh Fleet Future Plans

Director of Readiness Department for Commander, U.S. Seventh Fleet (C7F) Future Plans (FUPLANS) Detachment in Newport, RI. Tracks and enforces mobilization readiness requirements of a 45-Sailor detachment for support to a 3-Star Command.  Ensures members are trained and capable of fulfilling mission. Mobilization billet is development of bilateral war plans with Japan.

Director of Administration, C7F Det FUPLANS

Director of Administration for COMSEVENTHFLT Det FUPLANS in Newport, RI.  Directed 3-5 people in the execution of administrative requirements to support Seventh Fleet.

Readiness Director, USFF MAO Ft Dix

Director of Readiness Department for US Fleet Forces Maritime Air Operations Detachment-Fort Dix.  Tracked and enforced mobilization readiness requirements for a support detachment to a 4-Star Command.  Ensured members are trained and capable of fulfilling mission. Mobilization billet was to provide planning support for Fires Cell.

Operations Officer, NCAGS DET Houston

Operations Department Head (N3) for the Navy Cooperation and Guidance Detachment-Houston.  Charged with planning and executing Unit missions to support Active Duty operations.  Maintained Unit readiness to support exercises and matched Sailors to assignments in support of major fleet exercises, notably PANAMAX.

During PANAMAX 2018, served as the primary daytime watchstander on the coalition MOC floor, working directly with counterparts from Argentina, Guatemala, and Chile.

 

 Lieutenant Commander (2013 – 2018)

Operations Officer, COMTHIRDFLT HQ

Operations Officer (N3) for Commander Third Fleet’s HQ Reserve Support Unit.  Managed Orders Generation, Processing, and Requirement Filling for a 28 person HQ Augment Unit in support of Commander, US Third Fleet.  Worked with Operational Support Officer (OSO) to build and fill requirements for critical missions in support of Fleet Operations.

Admin Officer, COMTHIRDFLT HQ

Department Head of the Administration Department (N1) for the Third Fleet Reserve Unit (NR C3F HQ). Managed a 3 person department responsible for evaluations, correspondence, awards, and all other admin functions.

Admin Officer, COMNAVFORKOREA HQ

Department Head of the Administration Department (N1) for the HQ Reserve Unit Detachment supporting the Commander, Naval Forces Korea.  Managed a 7 person Department providing administrative services for a 100-person Operational Unit.

 

Lieutenant (2007-2013)

Assistant Operations Officer (N3A), NAVELSG FWD HQ, Kuwait

Provided daily briefings to Commander, Navy Expeditionary Logistics (Forward) at headquarters in Camp Arifjan, Iraq.  Chartered a staffing strategy engagement to reduced unnecessary manning and headcount, ultimately initiating changes that directly saved the US $11 Million / year.

Officer in Charge

2011-2012: As Officer in Charge of Navy Customs Detachment at Camp Virginia, Kuwait, led 35 Sailors at a remote location tasked with transferring all personnel and equipment out of Iraq based on US President’s expedited

  • Initiated sustainability program for US Forces-Kuwait, including expanded recycling and instituting a joint composting program between civilian and military groups.
  • Performed an in-depth manning analysis to demonstrate that the total number of Reservists utilized could be reduced for the mission at hand, then compiled into an effective pitch deck given to multiple Flag Officers with the end result being a reduction in manning that saved $11 Million/year.

Comms Officer, COMPACFLT DET 601

  • Built and sustained Unit knowledge management solution to maintain a secure repository of key information.
  • Managed Unit security clearance compliance.
  • Maintained unit A/V and computer assets.

  Lieutenant Junior Grade (2005 – 2007)

Assistant Readiness Officer, COMPACFLT Det 320

  • Tracked and reported on completion of requirements for unit members to support mobilization
  • Command Fitness Leader – administered unit Physical Fitness Tests, maintained records, and ensured compliance.

Combat Systems Officer, USS Germantown

  • Directed teams of up to 22 in the maintenance, service, and operation of ship’s combat and electronic warfare capabilities

  Ensign (2003 – 2005)

Auxiliary Machinery Room Division Officer, USS Germantown

Managed 18 Sailors in the maintenance and operation of the auxiliary machinery equipment, including 4 Ship Service Diesel Generators (SSDGs) providing non-propulsion power to the ship, along with Low Pressure Air Compressors and water purification equipment.

 Midshipman (1999 – 2003)

Battalion Commanding Officer

As BCO of the NROTC Unit at UC-Berkeley, served as the student-Commander of 50+ Midshipmen from Stanford, UC-Berkeley, and UC-Davis.  Was awarded the Departmental Citation from the Naval Science Department at UC-Berkeley for excellence in service and academics.

Prior to being made BCO, served as the Squad Leader of Social Squad (putting on Social events including an annual “Ring Dance”), and as Squad Leader of Communications Squad (publishing and distributing a semi-annual publication for the Unit).
